About Brendan Gilpatrick

Brendan GilpatrickI was not born to run. In high school I lettered in 4 sports none of which were cross-country or track and field.  In college I played lacrosse and found that once I graduated I had this feeling that something was missing. I signed up for a race with a close friend and trained with little knowledge. I finished — it hurt — and I was hooked.

Since that first race I have used my passion for running to develop my knowledge of the sport and the science behind it. To date I have raced distances from the local 5k to a 100 miler at 7,000+ feet of elevation in the mountains. Running has allowed me to explore places I would not have imagined possible and to make a deep and lasting connection to the natural world.
